Entrepreneurs have the ability to recognize an opportunity but more important, seize that opportunity, says Bill Rancic. A self-proclaimed people watcher, Bill Rancic shares his take on the traits – good and bad -- of entrepreneurs and business leaders.
Are you an Entrepreneur?
1. Practical execution. As an entrepreneur you realize the importance of delivering results. Most people talk a great game. Entrepreneurs know that talk is cheap. Entrepreneurs know they have to deliver results.
2. Agility. An entrepreneur knows you can’t come to the table with only one management style, one strategy, one game plan because that one may not be the one that works. Change up your game plan. Be ready to play.
3. Risk Taker. It’s easy to say, but managing risk and micro managing that risk is what turn risk into success.
Best Traits
1. Be Creative. An entrepreneur looks for creative solutions to their problems.
2. Good decision makers. Good leaders make decisions and make them quickly. They don’t miss out on opportunity. They don’t over-analyze, or experience analysis-paralysis.
3. Never quit and never make excuses. Too many people give up too easily or blame everything on everybody else. Entrepreneurs take ownership.
Worse Traits
1. Reactive rather than proactive. As entrepreneurs, we need to anticipate problems and bring solutions rather than waiting for a fire to arise.
2. Negativity. The majority of the people we come in contact with in our day are negative, research shows. As entrepreneurs, don’t surround yourself with ergative people.
3. Don’t maximize potential. “I truly believe that potential is the best God-given asset that we have and it’s the most under utilized,” says Rancic. “It’s up to us to make it grow. It’s up to us to make it happen.”
