1. Promote your call to action -- You can send the best offers to your subscribers, but no one will sign up to
see them if you do not promote your call to action. Add your call to action to your marketing materials, Facebook wall, Twitter, web site, print, direct mail, etc. Also, be sure your employees tell every customer they encounter about the new campaign.
2. Reward your customers for signing up -- A little reward can go a long way to gaining more subscribers. Thanking customers for giving you their mobile number will raise your opt-in rates.
3. Limit the amount of offers you send -- Don't send offers every few days. Best practices and highest redemption rates typically result from text offers only being sent once a week, or 2 to 3 times per month. Sending text offers too frequently can drive down redemption rates and increase opt-outs.
4. Reward your subscribers -- Send different offers from your regular specials and other printed coupons. The potential for higher sales and profits exists if you reward people who have taken the time to opt-in to your campaign with offers they can only receive via cell phone. “Buy One - Get One,” “FREE,” and “Dollar Amount Off” are the three highest converting offers for text message marketing.
5. Help your customers spread the message -- At the end of each text offer, include the words “FWD 2 a friend.” People like sharing offers they receive with their friends. This has the capability to make your offer go viral and spread much further than just your own opt-in list.
